...I was sitting at the Cliff House yesterday morning, after a walk along the beach, drinking a mocha and watching pelicans, cormorants and gulls plying their trade....and a small black and white seabird with RED legs and feet kept flying into/out of the cliffs directly under my window, a site invisible from the window or from shore, safe for a nest...I checked the guides and its a bird I've NEVER seen before YAYYYYYY!!!! as pigeon guillemot. cute cute cute.

Sat, June 30, 2007 - 10:03 AMThanks for this lovely post!
And thanks for alerting me to this bird! Years ago on the Oregon coast I found the remains of a bird body, parts of the wings were still intact and I took them home. I have never been able to identify this wings, which are pointed and black with some white markings, but I think you have at last identified them for me! :-)
